JOB TITLE: Administrative Assistant

Responsible to:  Pastor and Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC)

Status: Part-time, hourly

General Position Description: The Administrative Assistant is responsible for working at the church for 12 hours per week. Responsibilities include bookkeeping, ordering supplies, updating the website, social media, church calendar, and weekly worship presentations with upcoming activities.

Specific Responsibilities:

Communications:

  1. Compile Bulletin and print

  2. Compile the ProPresenter Presentation for worship

  3. Communications to the congregation when necessary

  4. Coordinate Volunteers

  5. Oversee Prayer GroupMe and future prayer communications

  6. Post activities and manage social media accounts

  7. Develop and improve the church website

  8. Coordinate building usage

  9. Update church calendar online and in-person version

 Finance:

  1. Business Administrator position: (oversee all church expenses and record keeping)

a.    Pay all bills and write checks

b.    Pay all connectional giving

c.    Integrate FSNB and Chase (credit card) expenditures into our finance software

d.    Input interest income into our finance software

e.    Run Finance reports for the church

f.      Attend Finance Committee meetings and Church Council

g.    Complete any needed tax forms for the church

 Other:

  1. Meet with Pastor regularly

  2. Check on and order supplies (kitchen, bathroom, class books)

  3. Be a welcoming presence at church

  4. In the future, answer phones

 Qualifications:

  • Proficient knowledge of bookkeeping

  • Background check

  • Proficient in social media and website upkeep

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • A team player, easy to work with, and driven to perform at a high standard

Benefits and Compensation

  • Hourly wage of $15.00

  • In church office 3 days per week, 4 hours each day

JOB TITLE: Children’s Minister

Responsible to:  Pastor and Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC)

Status: Part-time, hourly, 6-10 hrs. a week

General Position Description: Children’s Minister is responsible for the pastoring of children and their families through the implementation of a Sunday morning Children’s Church and eventually a Children’s Education program

Ministry Specific Responsibilities:

  • Ministry for 0–10-year-old children at Trinity Global Methodist Church

  • Lead and direct a Children’s Church program, incorporating curriculum, music and activities that promote spiritual growth

  • Plan and prepare a healthy snack for children’s activities

  • Maintain a safe educational place for children to experience God that builds a foundation of faith for each child

  • Provide curriculum materials to volunteers for their preparation and study of the weekly lesson materials in your absence

  • Create and implement a Children’s Education program

  • Recruit, train and schedule volunteers

  • Facilitate organizational meetings for collaboration among volunteers

  • Develop a schedule for Children’s Church and Children’s Education program volunteers

  • Share the schedule with all volunteers and develop a plan for substitutes as needed

  • Develop and lead a Children’s Council of 3-6 people, helping to guide the vision for Children’s Ministry at Trinity, and work together to grow the Ministry

  • Oversee background checks and ministry safe training for all volunteers and ensure all volunteers comply with the ministry safe policy

  • Implement and oversee a summer VBS

  • Maintain personal Bible study to facilitate one’s own spiritual growth

  • Participate in one professional development activity focused on children’s ministry each year as approved by SPRC

  • Attend all required meetings as determined by the pastor

 Qualifications:

  • Willing to teach Global Methodist discipline beliefs

  • Spiritual maturity

  • Regularly attends and is actively involved in church

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Proven ability to relate to children and teach them about Jesus

  • A team player, good to work with and driven to make a difference in the lives if the children of Trinity GMC

Benefits and Compensation

  • Pay will start at $15/hr for an expected 5-10 hrs a week. Time sheet to be filled out for every quarter hour twice a month
